 Aran and Bidgol No. 2 Well Strikes it Gas – ChinaIran


After 7 months of excavation and performing related tests, oil well number two in
Iran's Central Desert in Aran and Bidgol reached natural gas by Sinopec, a Chinese firm. Experts believe the results are indicative of oil and gas in the region. This well contains sweet methane gas. Experts are currently performing technical test to estimate the exact amount of the gas reserves of this well.

CBI Plans ATM Expansion

The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) is planning to link the national Automated Teller Machine system to Southeast Asian countries in cooperation with a Chinese firm. The national ATM cards would soon become usable in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and other countries in the region. A CBI team is visiting China to hold talks with the Shanghai-based China Union Pay on the project to connect the Iranian ATM system to Southeast Asia. "Once the project is implemented, Iranians traveling to China, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries can use their ATM cards there.

 

 

14 Foreign Firms at Tehran Metal Bourse 

 

Over fourteen international companies have been permitted to display their products at Tehran metal and industrial goods stock exchange. Ali Akbar Hashemian, director general of the bourse said that the companies may import and display their goods at the metal exchange. Grounds have been created for importing goods, he said, adding that new export regulations have been devised to determine the actual price of Iranian goods in world markets.

IranChina Muslims Tourism Conference

 

Iran-China Tourism cooperation was discussed during the first conference on Chinese Muslims Tourism and Trade in this autonomous Northwestern Province of China. More than one hundred Chinese Muslims in the form of tens of trade and tourism agencies attended this one-day event.

 

Irish Firm Finds Amazing Gold Veins

 

Persian Gold, an Irish excavation company, announced that in its first sampling phase of Iran's gold mines, it has reached to amazing results. The company has won the license to exploit an area of 1800 sq kms in Northwest of Iran.  It has the license to excavate 3-karat gold and has applied to excavate 3 more kinds. 

 

Iran-Bahrain keen on expansion of trade ties

 

Bahrain Ambassador in Iran Kamel Salih al-Salih in a meeting with Minister of Commerce Massoud Mir Kazemi called for closer economic and trade relations. He also stressed on the need for Tehran's active participation in the next Iran-Bahrain Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in November. He said the views of Mr. Mir Kazemi are important in completing issues broached in the previous commission meetings. He expressed hope that there will be important decisions taken to bolster economic and trade relations in the upcoming meeting. Mir Kazemi also stressed common cultural and religious history between the two nations. Iran's government policies are predicated on expansion of relations with the Moslem nations. The most significant news on the two nations' investments and trade relations occurred in 2004 when Iranian and Bahraini commerce ministers held talks in the framework of the 4th session of the two countries' Joint Economic Cooperation Commission.

 

Iran – Tourism

 

Director General of the Department of Environment of Lorestan province said that since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 21) the provincial protected sites have been toured by over 60,000 tourists. He added that the majority of the visitors have toured Sepidkouh and Oshtorankouh areas as well as Lorestan's marshlands. "Meanwhile, 1,659 tourist groups comprising 18,165 tourists visited Gohar Lake. Other tourist areas of the province including Kamandan snow-covered mountain, Azna waterfall, Espar valley, Yafteh Mountain, Deraz and Espar rivers and other recreational centers were also toured.

 

Iran Showcases Autos in Germany

 

Sixty First Auto Fair in Germany (IAA) began its work with Iran showcasing its automobiles. In this year's auto fair in Frankfurt, Iran Khodro, Iran's major car manufacturing company has put on display its latest products including Peugeot 206 equipped with trunk. This is a joint product by Iran Khodro and French Peugeot with the former having the Intellectual Right. It is to be exported to 35 years in the world through Peugeot Incorporation.

Aras FTZ Inaugurated

The inauguration ceremony of Aras Free Trade and Industrial Zone was held on the northwestern corner of the country in Jolfa. Trade and economic development in Jolfa is expected to receive a major boost as work is started in this new FTZ. The establishment of Aras FTZ is to help renovate the regional infrastructure and improve employment.
